🧰 Tools & materials included (unless otherwise noted)
✨ Beginner-friendly options available
📍 Held in downtown Hamilton
💲 Most classes are $85–$90
👥 Small group sizes (1–4 people)
Whether you’re completely new to leatherwork or looking to build on existing skills, our classes are designed to give you a hands-on, practical experience in a small, supportive setting.
All of our classes are taught right here in our downtown Hamilton shop, where you’ll work with the same tools, materials, and techniques we use every day. We keep class sizes intentionally small—just 1–4 people—so you get plenty of guidance and individual attention throughout.
Most classes run 1–2 hours, and unless otherwise noted, all tools and materials are included. Many of our offerings are beginner-friendly, making them a great starting point if you’ve never worked with leather before.
What You Can Expect
Our classes are focused on real, usable skills—not just theory. In many cases, you’ll leave with a finished piece you can be proud of. In others, the focus is on building foundational techniques you can carry into future projects.
Here’s a look at some of the classes we regularly offer (availability may vary by session):
Beginner Hand Stitching
A great place to start. Learn the fundamentals of saddle stitching and leave with a finished card wallet.
Advanced Hand Stitching
Build on your skills with more complex construction techniques. You’ll leave well on your way to completing a dice cup, along with the knowledge to finish it confidently.
Belt Making
Cut, size, and assemble your own belt from quality leather. You’ll leave with a finished, custom-fit piece.
Card Wallet
A focused project-based class where you’ll create a clean, functional card wallet from start to finish.
Carving & Tooling
A skills-based class exploring decorative techniques. You’ll leave with practice pieces and a solid understanding of how to approach tooling your own projects.
Clutch Purse
A more involved build where you’ll create a finished leather clutch, learning construction techniques along the way.
Dyeing & Finishing
Learn how to properly dye, seal, and finish leather. This is a technique-focused class, often using small sample pieces or simple items like coasters.
Leather Marbling
A creative, hands-on experience. You’ll design your own marbled leather and leave with a finished journal cover and inserts.
Open Instruction Sessions (One-on-One)
In addition to our scheduled classes, we offer one-on-one Open Instruction sessions for those looking for more personalized guidance.
These sessions are ideal if you have a specific project in mind or want help learning a particular skill. Together, we’ll focus on the techniques and steps needed to move your project forward—whether that’s patterning, construction, stitching, or finishing.
Because of the time frame (typically one hour), most projects won’t be completed during a single session. Instead, the goal is to give you the knowledge, confidence, and direction to continue working on your own.
If you’ve been wanting to try leatherwork, this is a great place to start—or to keep building your skills in a hands-on, approachable way.
