Leather Laces

Our leather laces are cut from whole hides, not bonded leather, giving them the strength, flexibility, and natural character that only genuine leather can provide. Each lace is sold individually and measures 72″ (183 cm) long.

Available in 1/8″, 3/16″, and 1/4″ widths, these laces are ideal for everything from leathercraft projects to replacing worn laces on gloves, boots, and sporting equipment.

Choosing a Width

1/8″ – Commonly used for boot laces, decorative lacing, and smaller leather goods.
3/16″ – Our most popular size for baseball glove re-lacing.
1/4″ – The preferred choice for lacrosse stick re-lacing and other heavier-duty applications.

Chrome-Tanned vs. Alum-Tanned

We offer both chrome-tanned and alum-tanned leather laces, each with its own advantages.

Chrome-tanned laces are soft, flexible, and available in a wider range of vibrant colours, making them an excellent choice for general leathercraft, repairs, and everyday use.

Alum-tanned laces are known for their excellent strength and durability, making them the preferred choice for applications like lacrosse stick re-lacing. Our natural Tan alum-tanned lace is left unoiled for a firmer feel, while our Jaguar Maroon and Jaguar Burgundy alum-tanned laces are oil-tanned, giving them a softer, more supple feel without sacrificing their strength.

While many customers successfully use our 1/8″ leather laces as boot laces, leather laces are a natural product and their performance depends on the application, fit, and amount of stress placed on them. We cannot guarantee against stretching or breakage resulting from heavy or prolonged use.
